How did your band come together, and what inspired you to pursue metal music?
We found each other online. Stephan was the last piece of the puzzle. He joined in 2018. We had a couple of songs ready back then, set them straight and took a shot at our first live experiences.
We wouldn't consider us as a metal band in the first place but as a crossover or as you might say "alternative" band. Although we have some metal background in the band. Both: As fans and in the past as musicians.
Can you describe your musical style and the unique elements that set your band apart in the metal scene?
Compared to the metal scene...We are much softer than the average :D.
We see ourselves somewhere inbetween. Solid hard rock elements, a touch of grunge and punk and a straight prohibition of clean guitars :D
On our album debut you can perfectly discover a mix of fast paces, slower rhythms, euphoria and melancholy, that our music stands for.
What has been the most memorable performance or tour experience for your band so far?
We haven't played that many shows so far. So probably every single second on stage is special to us. With our debut out we definitely look forward to play more gigs and share our music with all the people out there. Always have an eye on our socials to be up to date ;)
As a metal band, how do you approach songwriting, and what themes or messages do you aim to convey through your music?
We don't have a recipe for song writing. Song ideas as riffs, melodies are contributed by all of us.
Andy and I often record more detailed demos to start with. But all 4 of us are involved in finishing the idea. The lyrics are mostly my part. The themes and messages differ a lot. On the album we have songs about inner conflicts, wrong ideals but also motivational songs to celebrate life and a classic, love.
How do you balance the raw intensity of metal with the need to create melodic and engaging compositions?
Easy for us. We are basically very melodic. Insofar metal we might have a gap to pursue the raw intensity. But we are working on new material, that might take the intensity to a new level for us. You should watch out for that!
What are some challenges you've faced as a band in the metal genre, and how have you overcome them?
Are there any specific artists or bands that have influenced your musical journey, and if so, how have they impacted your sound?
One thing that changed during the pandemic definitely is the live scene, especially smaller venues or concepts to share a stage with 2,3 or 4 local bands are less than a couple of years ago. As a newcomer band who is looking for opportunity to play live more often, that's definitely a challenge.
But for now we are 4 guys, who are privileged to have a great hobby and celebrate music together. The rest will work out somehow.
We have many influences. Probably too many to mention. It would be more interesting what other people think, what or who they hear out of our music ;)
How do you engage with your fans and build a strong connection with your audience both on and off-stage?
On stage it's about feeling the vibe and always trying to provide a good show. Off stage we like to chat with people after a concert. Get raw feedback and have a good time with music lovers, just like us.
What can fans expect from your upcoming releases or projects, and how do you keep evolving as musicians?
We are working on new stuff and I think we will prove that we don't get along with that one sound. In the end we always try to write songs and music that we would like to listen to, that's the basic idea when creating songs. Some new ideas sound heavier than the usual, while others could be positioned as the most melodic so far. So, there will be a lot to discover! That's a promise ;)
In a genre often known for its energetic live performances, how do you maintain your energy and stage presence throughout your shows?
Usually the stages are not that big, so we can avoid going for miles during a show. Putting that aside, we don't live a 80s Rock&Roll lifestyle. That may help to get through the show without any special workout plan...
